Project: 7 Yale College Classes (2005-2011) together sponsor  joint regional events in major cities. The events target alumni who are ~10-20 years out, and intended to spur cross-class engagement.

Holding multiple pre-reunion Class get-togethers (“Preunions”)

Level of difficulty: Basic (Each event is basic, but  coordinating many is intermediate.)
Cost to attend: none (At museum, there was a low cost pay your own lunch at cafeteria.)
Award Winner: 2019

Project:  Class leadership invited classmates to host parties in their homes across the country for other classmates in their area. Class leadership then helped coordinate 9 get-togethers, one of which was a museum tour. Yale Club enhances speaker series by partnering with local university

Level of difficulty: Intermediate
Cost to attend: moderate

Project:  Regional Club (the Yale Alumni Association of the Northwest – YAANW) enhances its long running speaker series on environmental sustainability by partnering with the local engineering school (the College of Engineering at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN). The University of St.Thomas (UST) provided the venue and underwriting, and created synergies for driving attendance. Yale Club abroad enhances Yale/China Student Exchange program

Level of difficulty: Intermediate
Cost to attend: Free for students (alumni pay for their own moderately priced dinners)

Project:  A Yale Club in Shenzhen, China, annually arranges a day-trip for visiting Yale students along with local Chinese students, to leading Chinese companies. All the students are part of a regular exchange program between Yale and Lingnan (University) College in China, organized in part by Yale-China. Club Project for City Schools

Level of difficulty: Intermediate
Cost to attend: None

Project: A Cleveland Yale Club project to interest and motivate kids in Cleveland’s inner city schools to become engineers. Many of these students know nothing about engineering careers. (The same idea of bringing alumni and their friends in a variety of jobs and careers to kids in schools in person, on the web and using YouTube also can be done.) Club holds Symposium on College Admissions

Project: A regional Yale Club provided a forum for Club members and the general public to learn about the college admissions process from independent professional college counselors in an historic setting. Club Event and Class Mini-Reunion combined at Art Exhibit

Level of difficulty: Intermediate
Cost to attend: Low (slightly higher for non-Club members)

Event: A regional Yale Club and the Yale Class of 1988 collaborated to stage an special evening event: A visit to an exhibit of art work by an internationally recognized Yale graduate, with a talk by the artist, at a premier art museum in Washington, DC (June 2009). Class Reunion Art Book

Award Winner: 2010

Project: A book of artwork by members of the Class of 1970, published as part of its 40th Reunion in 2010. Reunion activities included a book signing event involving the artists. Continue reading Class Reunion Art Book

Athletic SIG holds Special Dinner/ Fundraiser in Honor of Beloved Coach

Cost to attend: moderate (students on team came free)
