Holding multiple pre-reunion Class get-togethers (“Preunions”)

Level of difficulty: Basic (Each event is basic, but  coordinating many is intermediate.)
Cost to attend: none (At museum, there was a low cost pay your own lunch at cafeteria.)
Award Winner: 2019

Project:  Class leadership invited classmates to host parties in their homes across the country for other classmates in their area. Class leadership then helped coordinate 9 get-togethers, one of which was a museum tour. Yale Club abroad enhances Yale/China Student Exchange program

Level of difficulty: Intermediate
Cost to attend: Free for students (alumni pay for their own moderately priced dinners)

Project:  A Yale Club in Shenzhen, China, annually arranges a day-trip for visiting Yale students along with local Chinese students, to leading Chinese companies. All the students are part of a regular exchange program between Yale and Lingnan (University) College in China, organized in part by Yale-China. Day-long Workshops with Panel Discussions and Curated Exhibits

Project:  Organized by an ad hoc group of Robert Reed’s former students and colleagues, a series of day-long intensive drawing workshops, art lectures, panel discussions, and exhibits highlighted the art and teaching of Robert Reed, the first (and only) African American tenured by the Yale School of Art.
